Rezaian, together with his wife Yeganeh Salehi and a female press photographer, appeared in the Branch 15 of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Court on Tuesday, the IRNA news agency reported.
It is the first court hearing of Rezaian, a 39-year-old Iranian-American, who is facing charges of “espionage, collaboration with hostile governments, gathering classified information and disseminating propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” according to his lawyer Leila Ahsan.
Rezaian, who holds a dual Iranian-American citizenship, has been The Post’s correspondent in Tehran since 2012.
His wife, an Iranian citizen, works as a correspondent for the National, a newspaper based in the United Arab Emirates. Salehi and the female photographer were released on bail in October 2014.
